New Bids Awarded to Fire Ground Tech

East Rockaway, Long Island Signs on
Fire Ground Tech has just been awarded the bid to supply East Rockaway Long Island Fire Department the Petzl EXO and Gemtor harness. Training will take place at the department's choice and will be done by the staff of Fire Ground Tech. Our entire staff are officers and firefighters from the FDNY. 102 firefighters will be trained for the end user class. Thanks to East Rockaway FD for selecting the best there is for firefighter training

Fire Ground Technologies opens up Long Island to the Petzl Exo

The Nesconset Fire Department has awarded Fire Ground Technologies the contract to supply and train their members on the Petzl Exo and Gemtor Fire Service harness. Training will be done in Suffolk County. We will post more info as time goes on.

The Hazlet NJ Fire Department along with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Fire Ground Technologies will be sponsoring a promotional demo on the Petzl Exo and Gemtor harness escape system. Fireman's Fund has donated a substantial amount of money in order for Hazlet FD to supply and train their members with this firefighter life saving system. Everyone is encouraged to come see the system and even take a slide on the EXO and meet some of the professional staff members of Fire Ground Tech. See you there!

Binghamton NY Fire Department awards Petzl Exo contract

The Binghamton Fire Department has selected the expertise of Fire Ground Technologies to supply and Train 116 members of their Fire Department. After months of research the department opted for the Petzl EXO in combination with the Gemtor harness as their personal escape system. The Staff of Fire Ground Tech will be training each member with the end user class along with some members taking Train the Trainer. We thank the department for putting their trust in Fire Ground Tech.

Representing 63 Fire Departments, Westchester County  NY has awarded the "Petzl EXO / Gemtor Harness bid" to Fire Ground Technologies. We appreciate the opportunity to supply and train the firefighters in Westchester County with the Petzl EXO Escape System and the Gemtor Harness.

The staff at Fire Ground Tech has just returned from a great trip to Knoxville, TN. Nine members of the Knoxville FD participated in a 3 day Train the Trainer class. Avoiding thunderstorms almost every day, Knoxville firefighters performed slides on the Petzl EXO and presented Power Point presentations in order to get certified to teach the 300 person department. Not only were the 3 days a complete success, but quite a few friendships were developed.  We want to wish the entire Knoxville Fire Department the best of luck in their training and hope to see ya'll real soon. FDNY Firefighter Saved by Petzl EXO / Gemtor Harness

New York - Nearly three years after two New York City firefighters jumped from a burning building and plunged to their deaths, a 24-year FDNY veteran yesterday became the first to use a widely hailed safety device to escape from a Brooklyn house fire that almost engulfed him.

Raymond Pollard, 50, of Brooklyn, rappelled away from searing flames that had trapped him near a fourth-floor window of an apartment building on Willoughby Avenue, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 3:41 a.m. Pollard drove the second unit to arrive at the scene, Ladder Company 102 from Bedford Avenue.
