Basic Structural Fire Attack - This course is a round table lecture focused on "back to basics". Topics include: nozzles, hose line positioning and operation, search and rescue, ventilation and roof operations. One of our most popular courses!
Approx. 6 hours
Engine Company Operations - This hands on course begins teaching the student the basics of stretching handlines into a structural fire and escalates using multiple lines. Topics will include: stretching, manpower assignments, hoseline operation/advancement and proper extinguishment methods. The use of outside venting will be covered. FULL TURNOUT GEAR and SCBA ARE REQUIRED.
Ladder Company Operations - This 3 hours course offers the student the understanding of basic truck work including: forcible entry, search and rescue, roof operations and the idea of team work. If an individual fire company requests this course and an aerial device is available (aerial ladder or tower ladder) to them, a 6 hour second day hands on course is available).
Riding Positions and Tool Assignments - A controversial topic in the fire service is now taught to students with an understanding of how a coordinated and organized team of firefighters can attack a structure fire and only result in a safer more aggressive operation. Approx 6 hours
SCBA Mask Confidence - An intensive 3 hour lecture and 6 hour "hands on" course designed to provide the student in proficient use of the SCBA while also introducing several self rescue techniques involving emergency SCBA procedures. A course for every interior firefighter!
Rapid Intervention (F.A.S.T.) - This course is designed to offer the student the information and knowledge to organize and train a FAST team. Several aspects are covered regarding protocol in your department. Topics include riding positions, dispatching, reporting in, building size-up, tool usage and tool assignments, acting as a safety team and interior operations for rescue.

SCBA Mask Confidence - An intensive 3 hour lecture and 6 hour "hands on" course designed to provide the student in proficient use of the SCBA while also introducing several self rescue techniques involving emergency SCBA procedures. A course for every interior firefighter!
Truck Co. Operations for Townhouses and Condos - The importance of ladder work is presented through this 6 hours lecture. An emphasis is placed on townhouses and condos regarding: building construction, extreme life hazards, rapid fire spread, positing of apparatus, forcible entry, search, ventilation, roof operations, checking for extension and overhauling. With today's increased construction of these buildings a firefighter must realize the importance of how to combat this type of fire.
Incident Command - A look into the responsibility of the IC during large scale operations. A presented format on how to properly organize and mitigate fire operations through firefighter accountability, resources, firefighter safety, sectoring, the use of a FAST team and delegating responsibility. A must for fire officers.
11 Hour Certified Class: 3 Hour PowerPoint lecture / 8 hour hands on training class
This class, specifically targets Firefighters and Fire Officers who are interested in purchasing the Petzl EXO escape system / FDNY Bail out System (FDNY PSS). The Petzl system cannot be purchased without this mandatory training class. This escape system is one of the few on the market to be certified by UL and NFPA. Due to the serious nature of this device, Petzl has certified and authorized Fire Ground Technologies to administer this class so Fire Departments or individual firefighters and fire officers may purchase this system. The PowerPoint program introduces the student to the principles of manufacturing, components, deployment, repacking of the system, inspection and care.
The hands-on portion of this class includes an entire day of system deployment. Students will demonstrate 3 different types of anchoring, deployment, and descending from a window. Upon successful completion of this course, a certificate will be issued to each individual student confirming that the firefighter is certified to purchase and use this system.
11 Hour Certified Class: 3 Hour PowerPoint lecture / 8 hour hands on training class
This 2 part class provides the student with a complete understanding on the Gemtor 541 harness. Topics included in the 3 hour PowerPoint includes, manufacturing, installation on bunker gear, and various uses of the harness including self rappelling and rescue pickups. The final segment of the PowerPoint teaches the student proper fire ground strategy and tactics in order to avoid being caught in a mayday situation during structural firefighting operations.
The hands on portion will include the following topics: Safety, installation and adjustment of the harness on your bunker gear, proper anchoring, deployment of rescue ropes for self rescue, techniques for exiting a window, and numerous descents from a window. Demonstrations of firefighter rescue pickups will also be done, time permitting.
Advanced Search
This 6 hours course covers the dangers of an interior search inside different types of burning buildings. Depending on the type of structure the student will learn various techniques on how to safely conduct a search using self discipline and other helpful hints. Search topics include: the fire area, floor above searches, search via interior, VES (vent, enter, search) and large area searches using a search rope. Emergency communications are also discussed and demonstrated.
Search Rope Techniques
A 3-4 hour lecture covering when and how to use search ropes in a large scale search. Today's wide open buildings present the firefighter with dangers never seen before. The student will learn how to properly deploy the search rope and how to conduct a team search in this type of structure. Several options and techniques will be discussed. (A hands on follow up course is available to students who desire to utilize this technique with full bunker gear and SCBA).

One of the most important courses Fire Ground Technologies offers. HOW TO SAVE YOURSELF AND OUR OWN! Today's fires are more complex and dangerous than ever before. We need to know quick decisive rescue techniques in order to survive in these fires. This intensive hands on 6 hours course will teach students how to rescue themselves or other firefighters in a life and death situation. Students will be rotated through stations simulating various scenarios of firefighter entrapment, firefighter down and firefighter evacuation from a burning building. "A home run of a course".
